Life Groups have one, simple purpose: to bring people together. Life is not meant to be lived alone. In fact, God hates loneliness. You were created to experience life with other people, and that’s why at Life Church, we encourage you to get into a Life Group. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why Life Groups exist—to make these life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you.
What are Life Groups?
A Life Group is an intentional gathering of people who normally meet on a weekly basis connecting with those who share your interests, who are at a similar stage in life, or who have experience in an area where you would like coaching. A Life Group is a small gathering (between 3 to 12 people) that hang out, study the Word and pray together, just to ‘do life’ together. Groups come in all shapes and sizes — married couples, singles, men, women, kids, no kids, teens, workplace, young adult, senior — the list goes on. No matter where you are in life, there’s a group for you.
Why should I join a Life Group?
It is through doing life together that our problems become smaller and God uses others to bring healing, support and encouragement to our lives—whether we realize we need it or not. Your Life Group will quickly become a place where others don’t just know your name, but care about what is happening in your life.
How do I get started?
Use our Life Groups directory to find the group that is right for you. You can search groups by topic, location or time. We recommend selecting a few groups that interest you before deciding on the best one. Contact the leaders to get more info, and make plans to try it out in person!
Lead or Host a Life Group?
Leading a Life Group isn’t about being perfect; it’s about serving others by giving them a place to connect. Leading a group is simple—choose a topic that interests you and select a time and location to meet with others to share it. We give you essential tools to make your group successful through Leadership Training and a directory so others can find it easily. Maybe you don’t feel qualified to lead a group, then hosting is a valuable need. Hosting is offering hospitality and support to the leader, allowing them to facilitate the group and sometimes giving a group a place to meet. We believe people’s lives are changed one semester at a time by moving one step toward Christ, and as a Life Group leader or host, you get to play an important role in that process.
